Interior design is my passion. Always has been. I was the child who would stroke the pages of mum’s Laura Ashley catalogue and decide which rug and wallpaper I’d have when I was a grown up in my own flat.
So it’s a real thrill that I am now working on creative collaborations with interior brands, where I can push my design skills!
Earlier this year asked me to be part of their #ILoveThatStyle project, alongside brilliant design duo , esteemed homes journalist and ex-journo turned blogger
They were building a campaign around their roller blind collection () and my brief was to come up with a space that encapsulates an Urban Glamour look.
My starting point was selecting a roller blind () that I wanted to layer with a Roman blind (). In an urban environment, you might not necessarily want to block the light, but you might want the privacy – so this semi sheer blind works perfectly.
Once the blinds were sorted, I really wanted the contrast of the blush pink with a deep green and I chose Studio Green by Farrow & Ball for the walls. One wall was panelled, to give a depth and focus to the dark colour, with a seating area made up of a variety of textures.
The other end was more of an ‘Instagram’ corner with a neon light, a brass clothing rail and full length mirror.
The cushions and carpet are from a selection at Hillarys – with some more textured cushions from Rockett St George.
I wanted to keep all the accents brass to add to the glamour vibe, so we sourced some amazing . The rug, bed and the statement overhead light both came from a prop house, but you could find similar and .
